SSG recruits veteran catcher Sangho Sang-ho [공식발표]

[엑스포츠뉴스 창원, 조은혜 기자] SSG Landers recruited veteran catcher Sang-ho from the franchise on the 20th.

SSG explained the background of the recruitment, saying, “I felt the need to reinforce the catcher’s depth in order to play the regular season of 144 games without a hitch through spring camp and practice games, so I decided to recruit veteran catcher Jung Sang-ho, who played more than 1,000 games in the first group. Sang-ho will be registered as an upbringing player, and from May 1st, he can register for the first group.

SK Wyverns (predecessor of SSG), the first nominated player (2001) and a former Incheon franchise, graduated from Dongsan High School in Incheon, and spent 15 years at SK from 2001 to 2015. After moving to the LG Twins as a free agent in 2006, he moved to the Doosan base last year and played a veteran catcher.

SSG confirmed the competitiveness of Jung Sang-ho through physical condition and skill checks, and is hoping that Sang-ho, who has abundant experience and know-how as a catcher, will not only contribute to strengthening the team’s catchers, but also become a model for young catchers.

Sang-ho Sang-ho said,’I am new to returning to my hometown team. I debuted on the professional stage in the Incheon-related team, and I would like to thank the club officials for helping me finish my career in Incheon again. As the team name and uniform have changed, I will also try to contribute to this team with a new mood and mindset.
