Due to Pedri’s sudden rise, he was the first to be named on the A team. Spain, led by coach Luis Enrique, will play a World Cup qualifier against Greece on Thursday.

In an exclusive interview with’Goal.com’ conducted after NXGN 2021 selection, Pedri said, “I don’t like setting future goals.”

“I am trying to improve every day. I’m only thinking about playing harder than before and continuing to grow with Barcelona.”

“It’s a dream,” Pedri said about the possibility of being selected for the Spanish national team at Euro 2020 this summer. I hope so, but I have to keep playing hard on the ground.”

Given that Pedri debuted on the Spanish U-21 team in September, the odds would have been very low if the question had been asked at the start of the season.

But over the course of the season, Pedri showed a striking breath with Messi, making La Liga the best creative midfielder.

As a result, Pedri had a real chance to be part of the Spanish national team at Euro 2020. This is especially the case if Pedri shows impressive performances in the World Cup qualifiers against Greece, Georgia and Kosovo.

He is likely to face fierce competition for midfield positions alongside Thiago Alcantara, Koke, Fabian Ruiz, Saul Niguez, Dani Sebayos and Marcos Lorente.
