(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Gyeong-yoon = North Korea revised the Labor Party rules in five years and clarified the details of strengthening national defense power.

The Chosun Central News Agency reported that the decision on the revision of the Party Code was adopted at the 8th Party Congress on the 10th.

In particular, the news agency said in the party agreement, “In the task part of the struggle for the unification of the motherland, it is clear that it is protecting the stability and peaceful environment of the Korean peninsula by suppressing the fundamental military threat with strong defense power.”

In the preface of the existing party rules, only the achievements of Chairman Kim Jong-un’s “strengthening self-defense deterrent” did not specify the goal of strengthening national defense power, but it appears to have been added.

While referring to the task of struggling for national reunification, attention is also drawn to whether the contents that previously reminded us of red unification have been revised.

The Party’s agreement is “to drive out the invasion force of the U.S. from South Korea, end the domination and interference of all kinds of foreign powers (…) It has been stipulated that we struggle to achieve development.”

While emphasizing the strengthening of national defense, he made it clear that the military is under the leadership of the Party.

The news agency said, “The People’s Army regulated the revolutionary armed forces of the Korean Workers’ Party, which defended and defended the socialist motherland, the Party, and the revolution with armed forces, and supported the leadership of the party in the lead.”

After five years, the Labor Party’s political affairs bureau was abolished and the secretary bureau revived.

The news agency reported that “the positions of party committee chairpersons and vice-chairmen at each level were changed to the responsible secretary, secretary, and deputy secretary, and the government affairs bureau became the secretary bureau, and the government affairs bureau was the secretary.

In 2016, after the secretary bureau was changed to the political affairs bureau at the 7th party congress, it returned to the previous system after five years.

The authority of the Party Political Bureau and the Party Central Prosecutors’ Committee was added and the regulations were effectively refined.

The Party’s Political Bureau’s Standing Committee decided on urgent and critical issues politically, economically, and militaryly, and discussed issues of appointment and dismissal of important state executives.

In particular, the standing committee of the Political Bureau was commissioned to conduct the meeting. Accordingly, it is possible to hold a meeting of the Party’s Political Bureau without the Chairman of the Party Chairman Kim Jong-un being directly chaired.
Accordingly, it is carefully observed that the current five-member Standing Committee will be expanded, and whether the first vice-president Kim Yeo-jeong-dang, the younger sister of Chairman Kim Jong-un, will be included.

North Korea also eliminated the Party Inspection Committee and transferred its function to the Party Central Prosecutors’ Committee, and has the Prosecutors’ Commission not only conduct financial management projects, but also supervise violations of Party rules and handle complaints and petitions.

The threshold of party membership was raised and control was strengthened.

The period of life as a candidate member was extended from one year to two years, and’members who did not fulfill their obligations for more than three years’ were newly reflected in the criteria for expulsion.

It also included warnings, strict warnings, and business politics penalties for party members and party organizations who do not comply with Party rules.

It also added that the party congress will be called once every five years, and that the call will be announced several months in advance. The party secretary conference and the beginner party secretary conference were also held every five years.

In addition, Kim Il-sung-Kim Jong-ilism was further highlighted and the popular masses-first politics was formally adopted as the basic socialist politics.

North Korea has been holding the 8th Party Congress from the 5th, and until the day before, it has completed three agendas, including ▲ Party Central Committee project summary ▲ Party Central Inspection Committee project summary ▲ Party Code revision.

There are also observations that the party will announce the end of the party conference within a day or two since only the elections for the party’s central leadership are left.
