NHK reported that “a ballistic missile was launched from North Korea around 7:6 am on this day,” citing an official from the Japanese Defense Ministry. The missile drop point is said to be seen outside of Japan’s EEZ.

It is the first time since March 29 last year that North Korea’s ballistic missile launch has been confirmed. At the time, North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles from Wonsan, Gangwon-do to the East Sea. The missile flew 250 km and fell on the eastern coast of North Korea. At the time, North Korea claimed to have fired a’super-large firearm’.
