Norman joins PGA Masters as a commentator this year

Greg Norman (66, Australia) of’The Great White Shark’ visits Masters of the Major Tournament of American Professional Golf (PGA) as a commentator.

Norman said in a statement on the morning of the 11th (Korean time) that he will participate in this year’s Masters as a commentator on the Masters broadcast of the US satellite radio Sirius XM. The Masters will kick off on April 8th at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. This is the first time a radio broadcast has been broadcasting a major competition since the TV era began. “Augusta is the most special place in the world and in my life,” Norman said. “I will use my experience of having played here 23 times to convey the situation of the game so that the listeners feel as if they are in the field.”

Norman was the best golf player in the world before Tiger Woods (46, USA) appeared. He maintained the world’s No. 1 ranking for 331 weeks and won 88 wins in professional competitions around the world, including 20 wins on the PGA Tour. Norman was also registered on the Golf Hall of Fame.

Norman, however, left a lot of regret at the major tournaments. Norman reached the top two times at the Open, but never won the US Open, PGA Championship, and Masters. Norman, in particular, finished runner-up and third in the Masters three times. Norman beat Nick Faldo (England) six strokes in the final round of the Masters in 1996, but was defeated by 78 strokes. Why Norman is regarded as the main character of the most painful reversal in the history of major tournaments including the Masters.

After Norman retired, he engaged in active activities such as golf course design, golf-related business, and commentary on broadcast broadcasts, but has not appeared to Masters since 2009.
