The deceased led Lotte in Korea on behalf of Chairman Shin Gyeok-ho, who was active in Japan in the early 1960s.
However, in 1965, after having a conflict with Chairman Gyeok-ho Shin over the promotion of the ramen business, he established a ramen company, Lotte Industrial, and became independent. In 1978, when Lotte Industrial changed its name to Nongshim, he completely broke up with Lotte.
