Kia Motors announced on the 5th that it will release a teaser video of the new logo and slogan through the official YouTube channel at 7 pm on the 6th. As previously known, Kia Motors’ new mission is Kia Motors minus Motors.
The slogan will be changed from’The Power to Surprise’ to’Movement that inspires’. This is to emphasize the flexibility of mobility by focusing on movement rather than force.
The logo is the same cursive KIA shape applied to the concept car’Imagine by Kia’, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019. The signboard on the Kia Motors headquarters building in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, was also replaced with a new logo.
The change of Kia Motors’ mission is interpreted by its willingness to fully implement the’Plan S’strategy of boldly switching from a traditional internal combustion locomotive company to an electric car and future mobility service company.
This company name change has been around 30 years since Kia Industries changed its name to the current company name in March 1990.
