According to foreign media such as Reuters, the National Weather Service (NWS) predicted that 31-61 cm of snow would fall in several states in the northeast of the United States. If snow falls at the maximum weather forecast, the most snow will accumulate in five years since the 70 cm of snowfall in 2016 was reported.

New York Mayor Bill Doublelazio said there would be a 56cm snowfall in New York City. “This snow storm is hindering our vaccination efforts.” Hundreds of aircraft and train routes through the northeast were interrupted due to heavy snow on that day. All flights were canceled at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, and at John F. Kennedy and Newark airports, 75 percent of scheduled flights, or 300, were canceled, transport authorities said.
