Although Japan has declared an emergency to respond to Corona 19, the increase in confirmed cases has not halted.

It turns out that many of the public think that the hosting of the Tokyo Olympics, which has been postponed once this summer, should be reviewed.

According to Kyodo News, the number of newly confirmed corona19 infections across Japan on the 10th was counted at 6,98.

In four days, the number of confirmed cases per day was below the 7,000 line, but as of Sunday, it is the highest ever.

The Tokyo area also fell below 2,000 in four days to 1,494, but it is an analysis that there is no reassurance as the number of tests decreased before the holiday season.

In addition, tensions are rising as four men and women who arrived from Brazil on the 2nd were confirmed to be infected with a new mutant virus different from those previously found in the UK and South Africa.

While the number of confirmed cases continued to increase despite the announcement of an emergency in the metropolitan area on the 7th, it was revealed that many of the public wanted to postpone or stop the Tokyo Olympics, which had been delayed once.

According to a recent survey by Kyodo News, about 35% said that the Olympics should be “stopped” and 45% said that they should “replay”, and 80% of respondents insisted on a reconsideration.

The Tokyo Olympics Organizing Committee said that if the Olympics do not take place in July this year, there will be no reenactment and will be canceled.

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has repeatedly confirmed his intention to hold the event, but it is unclear whether it will be as desired due to negative public opinion and the Cabinet approval rating.
