Hana Bank Vice President Park Seong-ho (57) will become the next Hana Bank President. Eun-hyeong Lee, vice chairman of Hana Financial Group (47), will be the representative of Hana Financial Investment. On the 24th, it is evaluated that Hana Financial Group, which decided to serve as Chairman Kim Jong-tae for a year in a row for organizational stabilization, replaced the chief executive officer (CEO) of its flagship subsidiary to establish a succession structure.

On the 25th, Hana Financial Group held the Subsidiary Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee (Chuwi Lim) and selected candidates for the next CEO for five affiliates: Hana Bank, Hana Financial Investment, Hana Card, Hana Capital, and Hana Savings Bank. Lim Chu-wi decided to recommend Hana Financial Group’s WM (Asset Management) Group Head (Vice President) and Hana Bank’s Digital Retail Group Executive Vice President Park as the next Hana Bank candidate alone. It is known that the final candidate was Lee Seung-yeol, the head of the management planning group (Vice-Chief) along with Vice-Chief Park.
Vice-president Park is a’authentic Hanaman’ who joined Hana Bank’s predecessor, Korea Investment Finance, in 1987 after graduating from the Seoul National University Department of Business Administration. At Hana Bank, he has accumulated various careers in household finance, business management, and overseas branches. He also served as CEO of Hana Financial TI, an information technology (IT) subsidiary, and Hana Bank Indonesia. An official from Hana Financial explained, “Vice-Chief Park has a high understanding of digital, has a strong sense of organizational control and overseas experience, so he has been noticed as the’next leader’.” On the 24th, Vice Chairman Park was also named in the final candidate for the next landowner chairman (shortlist), which was concluded with Chairman Kim’s one-year term, along with Vice Chairman Ham Young-ju and former Citibank Korea President Park Jin-hoe.
Eun-hyung Lee on the front line of management… Jang Kyung-hoon reappointed
Vice-Chairman Lee, who is in charge of the global division of Hana Financial Group, was selected as the new CEO of Hana Financial Investment. Born in 1974, it is among the youngest CEOs of major financial companies.
After graduating from Korea University, Vice Chairman Lee completed his master’s and doctoral degree at Jilin University in China, then became the head of the Global Capital Investment Group’s China subsidiary and an advisory professor at Beijing University in China. From 2014, he served as the general vice chairman of China’s Private Investment Group. In March of last year, he joined Vice Chairman Lee Jin-guk (now Hana Financial Investment Representative) as Vice Chairman of the holding company. He oversaw the global sector for about a year, but did not actively engage in external activities. Vice-Chairman Lee is evaluated as a prominent leader in that he is the first to take the lead in Hana Financial Management.
An official from Hana Financial said, “Vice-Chairman Lee will play a big role in Hana Financial Investment as well as Hana Financial’s global business by possessing key contacts in overseas financial sectors.” It is analyzed that Hana Financial’s replacement of the CEO of Hana Bank, which is its flagship affiliate, and the CEO of Hana Financial Investment, while Chairman Kim’s term of office is set until March next year, has a strong intention to establish a succession structure.
On this day, Lim Chu-wi recommended Hana Card CEO Jang Gyeong-hoon, Yoon Gyu-sun, Hana Capital CEO, and Oh Hwa-kyung, CEO of Hana Savings Bank, as candidates for the next CEO. Both of them were able to reappoint based on good performance. Hana Financial Group decided to open the management committee of affiliates soon to determine CEO candidates for six other affiliates, including Hana Asset Trust and Hana Financial T.
