New confirmed cases nationwide, 290 as of 6 pm… It seems to exceed 300

According to the quarantine authorities and local governments, a total of 290 new confirmed cases were positive in the Corona 19 test from 0 o’clock to 6 o’clock that day. 239 people (82.4%) in the metropolitan area and 51 people (17.6%) in the non-metropolitan area.

Specifically, there were 136 in Seoul, 92 in Gyeonggi, 15 in Busan, 11 in Incheon, 8 in Daejeon, 5 in each of Daegu, Ulsan and Chungnam, 4 in Gyeongbuk, 3 in Gwangju and Jeonbuk, 2 in Jeonnam, and 1 in Gangwon. . There have been no confirmed cases in Sejong, Chungbuk, Gyeongnam, and Jeju.

In terms of major infection cases, four additional people, including co-workers, were confirmed in relation to employees at large workplaces who had previously tested positive in Ulsan, and additional confirmed cases were found in Busan, mainly in nursing homes and nursing facilities. In addition, cases of infection involving large hospitals, family and relative meetings, workplaces, and sports facilities are steadily emerging.

During the Lunar New Year holiday (11-14 days), the number of confirmed confirmed cases recorded 323, 303, 262, and 290 per day, which gradually decreased, but increased again that day. Overall, the decrease in the number of confirmed cases can be interpreted as the effect of the temporary decrease in the number of consecutive holidays.

As there is still time until midnight when the count is closed, the number of new confirmed cases to be announced as of 0:00 on the 15th is expected to increase further, reaching the early mid- to mid-300s and the late 300s.
