A one-year-old baby was shot in the head when a nerve war between drivers spread by shooting on an arterial road in downtown Chicago, USA.

According to police reports, the incident took place on the 6th (local time) around 11 am on Lake Shore Drive on the eastern side of downtown Chicago, along Lake Michigan.

Witnesses said, “Two vehicles running in the north direction went ahead and walked behind the scenes, and then I heard a series of gunshots,” and said that the vehicle hit the road and stopped.

Police explained that a woman in the passenger seat got out of the car with a baby shot injured, and the driver of another car passing through the lane next to him picked them up and the driver of the vehicle in her car to a nearby hospital, police explained.

Police identified the shooting victim as a baby boy who was one year old.

The baby was shot near the temple of the head and is in a critical condition, and is known to be being treated at the Ruri Children’s Hospital affiliated with Northwestern University.

The police chief of the jurisdiction said, “The nerve war between drivers caused the shooting.”

He added, “The shooter and the victim don’t know each other.”

The shooting continued as the two vehicles passed two entry and exit routes.

Police announced that they had collected several casings on the section.

A pistol was also found inside the vehicle being attacked, but it is still unclear whether it was used during the accident at the time or whether it was a legitimate firearm.

The relationship between the baby and the two men and women in the vehicle being attacked has not yet been confirmed.

The driver of the vehicle that fired has fled from the scene, and the police are investigating based on the testimony of witnesses.
