Disclosure of’FUEL’ in four key areas of ESG management for social qualitative growth
Focus on the fields of’future generations, socially underprivileged, environmental ecosystem, AI leadership and ethics’
[그린포스트코리아 이한 기자] NCsoft established the ESG Management Committee to reinforce sustainability management. President Yoon Song-i (Chief Strategy Officer) will serve as the chairman.
NCsoft disclosed the composition of the ESG Management Committee and the plan of activities. According to NCsoft, the ESG Management Committee is composed of CSO Yoon Song-i (Chief Strategy Officer), Jeong Jin-soo COO (Chief Operation Officer), and Jae-Bum Lee (CHRO) The chairman is Yoon Song-i, CSO. The ESG Management Committee is in charge of establishing ESG management directions and strategies, and established the ESG Management Office as a working organization.
NC (NC) has unveiled key areas of ESG management to prepare a sustainable growth engine (FUEL). Consideration of future generations, protection of environmental ecosystems to support the socially underprivileged, leadership and ethics in the AI era. FUEL is the English abbreviation for these four values.
NC (NC) continues to support and invest for future generations. The NC Foundation has been operating the creative activity community’Projectory’ in Daehak-ro, Seoul since August 2020. It provides opportunities for children to fail freely, constantly challenge, and acquire self-direction and creativity through various projects. The company has been running an in-house day care center’Laughing Peanut’ for 13 years with the philosophy that’if children and families are happy, the company can grow.’
The NC Cultural Foundation has been conducting a special science program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States for the fifth year targeting underprivileged youth rearing facilities in Busan (Boys’ House, Songdo-jeong, Maria Dream Site). It services’My AAC’, an application for people with disabilities with difficulty in communication, and supports’SETEA.net’, the nation’s largest special teacher community. NCsoft Service, a subsidiary, is contributing to the expansion of jobs for the underprivileged through subsidiary certification of standard workplaces for the disabled.
NC (NC) is collaborating with’Protected Seas’, an international non-profit environmental organization for a sustainable planet. Support is provided to correctly display the Korean Marine Protected Area Map (MPA). NCsoft Global R&D Innovation Center, the new office building, will be built from the design stage with the goal of achieving the highest level of eco-friendly certification.
NCsoft recognizes the need for a multidisciplinary approach to the ethical use of AI technology for both developers and users, and supports research on the AI ethics curriculum in which humanities and social factors such as sociology, law, and politics are fused.
In addition, the NC Foundation has been supporting the development of AI ethics curriculum led by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford University in the U.S. from 2020. From 2021, it plans to expand support to Harvard University. In Korea, since 2018, the AI Talent Development Program NC Fellowship has been operated. NC plans to support various programs so that future generations can develop and utilize technology based on correct values.
