NC Resident Na Seong-beom’best effort to win team

Posting deadline… ‘At the next opportunity’ to MLB

Behind the history of financial hits and injuries

Na Seongbeom / Yonhap News

Na Seong-beom (32, NC Dinos)’s advance to the Major League Baseball (MLB) has been postponed.

Na Seong-beom was unable to sign a signing contract with any of the 30 major league clubs until the post negotiation deadline at 7 am (Korean time) on the 10th.

Na Seong-beom, a slugger representing Korean professional baseball, led the NC’s regular league and Korean series championships last year, and then tried to advance into the MLB through the posting system. After being qualified to negotiate for 30 days, MLB’s leading agent, Scott Boras, negotiated with 30 clubs to join the club, but the expected news did not come.

In the aftermath of the spread of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) last year, a major league club, which was hit hard by finances, has created an atmosphere of reluctance to invest large amounts of money. A history of undergoing surgery for a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee and a partial rupture of the cartilage plate in 2019 is also considered the cause of the contract failure.

Na Seong-beom is expected to challenge the MLB again after remaining at the NC and obtaining the free agent (FA) qualification. For NC, the remnant of Na Seong-beom, a major hitter and star, was given strength to challenge the championship for the second consecutive year. Na Seong-beom returned from injury last year with a batting average of 0.324 and 34 home runs, and since his debut in 2013, he recorded a career batting average of 0.317 and 179 home runs for eight seasons.

Na Seong-beom said through the NC club on this day, “I was happy to be able to challenge the major leagues I had dreamed of for a long time. I think there will be another opportunity,” he said, saying that he would continue to advance into the big leagues and added, “I will do my best to win the 2021 season team.”
