[FETV=정경철 기자] From the 1st, Naver announced that it will be possible to easily check train operation information provided by Korea Railroad Corporation (hereinafter referred to as KORAIL) in the Naver Map app and Naver search and even make reservations. From the first place search among domestic map services to the train reservation function, it is provided within the app.
By tapping the’Train Inquiry/Reservation’ tab newly created in the’Naver Map’ app, you can search and reserve train timetables. In the Naver search window, you can find the same function by searching for a station name or keywords such as’train timetable’ and’train reservation’. The information provided is for ▲KTX, ▲Saemaul, ▲Mugunghwa, ▲ITX-Youth, ▲tourism train operated by KORAIL.
According to Naver, only about 22 million search queries related to trains such as’Seoul Station’,’Suwon Station’, and’Korail’ among the search queries that flowed into Naver Maps last year reached about 22 million. As users search for a route to their destination, it is possible to reserve trains using only Naver Maps, so Naver Maps can provide a more complete search experience for user queries. Naver said, “As there are various routes and transfer sections nationwide, there are many user needs for a one-stop function that enables easy identification of economic routes in terms of time and cost and even reservations.”
In particular, Naver Map has the largest level of POI (Point of Interest) data in Korea, such as information on various local businesses, such as stores of SME registered in’Smart Place’, and information on hidden restaurants. In addition, since Naver’s regional-based services such as’Smart Around’ are supported within Naver Maps, it is expected to create a synergy effect with this train information provision function.
For example, if a user in Seoul plans a restaurant tour prior to their trip to Busan, they can use’Smart Around’ on the Naver Map to find a restaurant of their taste and even book a train to Busan at once. In addition, prior to the boarding time on the day of departure, you can pre-order food from a restaurant near Seoul Station with’Naver Smart Order’ and pick up and board the train.
Seunggi Seung-gi, a leader in charge of Naver Maps, said, “Naver Maps is able to provide a complete travel experience with train information/booking functions in addition to the function of finding walking routes between departure and destination, public transportation directions It is expected that it will be able to provide enhanced convenience to users by creating synergy effects with large-scale POI data equipped with Naver’s various regional-based services.” In addition, he added, “In the future, we are reviewing various functions for user convenience, such as recommending restaurants near the destination as notifications according to the arrival time.”
