Naver Cloud Platform, a cloud company specializing in Naver, said on the day that “temporary access errors of some users were identified when logging in to the console, and urgent inspection and recovery are in progress after determining the cause.”
He then re-announced and said, “The temporary access error has been normalized through an emergency check,” and “We apologize for any inconvenience in using the service.”
A company official said, “There was a temporary failure due to some errors while replacing the hardware (HW) equipment.
The main services were interrupted for about 45 minutes from 5:19 pm to 6:05 pm the previous day, and then gradually normalized and restoration was completed at 6:29 pm.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT and Naver, the previous day’s failure was attributed to the Distributed Denial of Service attack.
DDoS is a cyber attack that paralyzes the system by simultaneously requesting access to the target computer by using a zombie PC infected by inserting a distributed denial of service attack malicious code. Previously, Naver was attacked by DDoS in 2009 with the government and financial institutions.
A Naver official said, “Service errors the day before and cloud failures on this day are separate issues.”
