In the future, Naver and Kakao apps will be able to store the’National Technical Certificate’. On the 15th, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Naver and Kakao announced that they have signed a five-way MOU for the’digital national certification project and joint project development’. Accordingly, from today, it is possible to store the’Naver license’ in the Naver app. Kakao is also planning to implement a service that allows you to check credentials in KakaoTalk wallet within this month.

This agreement was promoted with the aim of increasing the utilization of national qualifications and promoting social values by utilizing digital platforms. The Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to improve the system, such as reorganization of the National Technical Qualification Act, and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry plan to provide necessary information for mobile license service.

Certifications, easy access through app

If you authenticate yourself through the Naver-Kakao certificate, you can easily check the one you have acquired among the 495 national technical qualifications issued by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. Naver implements this function in the drawer of the Naver app, and Kakao in the KakaoTalk wallet. Naver started with national technical qualifications such as information processing technicians, Korean food cooking technicians, and forklift driving technicians. Also, it will be provided so that it can be used through the Naver certification service. Kakao also promised to expand the available licenses.

In the future, Naver plans to further enhance its certification service and link it with internal services such as Naver blog, cafe, knowledge iN, knowledge iN expert, and person information in various ways. They can prove their expertise by revealing their certification details, or use a specific certification as a condition to join a cafe. Naver CEO Seong-suk Han said, “The Naver certification service is a strong synergy with the current fast-growing Naver certificate and electronic document service, and will provide differentiated convenience to users.” “I will try to make the Naver app itself a portfolio for users.”

Kakao will be able to add his/her credentials to the KakaoTalk profile in the KakaoTalk profile management menu. Kakao announced that it will expand the service to which credentials are applied to Kakao Talk open chat and Kakao TV.

Meanwhile, Naver and Kakao are working hard on the’mobile ID card’ business, including national certificates. It is an aspiration to take on the role of a’digital electronic wallet’ that replaces a real wallet by putting such identification cards, qualifications, and certificates in each company’s app.
