Candidate Se-hoon Oh, who has been confirmed as a candidate for unification of the pan-optics election by the mayor of Seoul, is answering questions from reporters after a press conference at the Seoul Yeouido National Assembly Communication Hall on the 23rd. Joint coverage photo
It is a resurrection in 10 years. After resigning from the mayor of Seoul in 2011, two general elections in 2016 and 2021, defeat in the party presidential election, etc. As a single candidate, it was chosen by the citizens. Following the victory in the party contest against former lawmaker Na Gyeong-won, it is evaluated that he filmed a’reverse drama’ in his politics life while winning a’good victory’ against the Mayor of Seoul City Mayor Ahn Chul-soo on this day.
A bad start with’conditional running’… Breakthrough with’moderate expandability’
Candidate Oh’s election race was not smooth from the run. Candidate Oh raised controversy by asking for Ahn’s admission in January and’conditionally running’. In January, when’conditional’ was removed and officially declared for running, few people expected Oh to advance to the finals. Even within the party, there was a bitter voice saying, “There is no law that politics with conditions will succeed.” Even in the process of the party’s primary election, he was constantly being pushed down by former lawmakers who are highly recognized. Candidate Oh, who advanced to the main race in the second place in the first round, emphasized the expandability against former lawmaker Na, who had a strong organizational power in the party. I confronted the former lawmaker’s’Jjajang·Jamppong Ron’ (meaning that there is no middle ideology as if not eating Jjajangmyeon and Jjambbong mixed together).
Se-Hoon Oh at the moment of political resurgence with the theory of judgment on the regime
After winning the contest, he became the protagonist of the so-called’Oh Sehun-pung’. In TV debates and press conferences, policy aspects were put in the lead, such as highlighting’customized policies’ designed for each region. The topography of public opinion also boosted the candidate for the 1st opposition party. The government’s judgment theory expanded as the passports, such as allegations of speculation by employees of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), expanded and enjoyed the premium of the 1st opposition candidate. With public opinion on his back as a’regime judge’, he gained victory by emphasizing that he is a candidate who has the organization and funds necessary to achieve a regime change, and a broad base of support. The fact that the by-election was held while the former mayor was inactive was an advantage for Candidate Oh, who put up the phrase “I will work skillfully from the first day.” Throughout the process of unification, Kim Jong-in, chairman of the People’s Strength Emergency Countermeasures Committee, raised the message that “unification is bound to become a big party”, which was also an opportunity to highlight the weaknesses of Candidate Ahn in the Third Zone. An official at Candidate Oh’s Camp said, “It seems that Candidate Ahn has succeeded in differentiation as he made a right-click move aimed at the active supporters of the people’s strength.” Candidate Oh was elected as a candidate for the first opposition party in the re-election of the’Mini Grand Class’, and the moment of political resurgence came. Starting from this election, it is also of interest that he will become the leading player in breaking the loop of the 4th consecutive national election (20th general election in 2016, presidential election in 2017, local election in 2018, general election in 2020). As Candidate Oh succeeds in unification, the power of the people is also expected to accelerate the movement aimed at the middle class. As the confidence that it can cover even middle-aged voters outside of the traditional support base is expressed, expectations for a regime change in 2022 are also growing.
