This is Ahn Cheol-soo, the mayor of Seoul. The reason I proposed the unification of pan-opposition candidates in the upcoming Seoul mayoral by-election was due to the urgency that a regime change could not be achieved if the opposition did not win in the Seoul mayoral election. I thought that I had to throw my body to prevent Korea from falling into irreparable hell due to the incompetence and self-righteousness of this regime. So I decided to lay the bridgehead for regime change. Candidate Tae-seop Geum seems to have made a proposal to unify the opposition. I would like to express my gratitude to Candidate Geum for making this difficult decision. So, I propose that not only Candidate Tae-seop Geum, but also all the pan-opposition candidates who judge the Moon Jae-in regime and agree to the regime change will come together to achieve the first unification. If we are in Group A for the unification of the pan-opposition candidates, the power of the people will be Group B in the preliminary competition. For unification to succeed, its purpose and objective must be clear. That way, we can create a synergy effect that widens the base of the pan-optics and increases the sum of each other. I ask all candidates participating in the unification to agree to the following principles and standards. First, I agree with the unified purpose of judging the Moon Jae-in regime in the Mayor of Seoul this time and laying the bridgehead for regime change. Second, we promise to respect the spirit of the constitution, the rule of law, and the common sense of the people, and to correct the crumbling justice and fairness. Third, we promise to compete with policy and vision without making any negative or personal slander during the contest. Fourth, the preliminary candidates who participated in the unification clearly surrender to the results and openly declare the unified candidate’s support. Fifth, those who have been candidates in the 1st unification contest achieve the unification of the pan-opposition candidate through the People’s Strength candidate and the 2nd unification contest. First of all, I promise you these five things. Candidate Tae-seop Geum accepts my proposal, and I look forward to the interest and participation of other candidates from the pan-optics. thank you.
―You said that it was a pan-optics, but will candidate Jo Jung-hoon enter the era? “I think it will be an opportunity to know for sure whether those who agree with the standard are those with pan-opposition or pan-passport.” ―You said that the unification of the third zone was called Group A and the power of the people was Group B. What is the meaning of A and B? “It’s not meant to be a big deal, but I’m saying it’s the A-League because it includes the opposition candidate’s fit and the most advanced me.” ―Regarding the unification schedule, the competition schedule of the people’s power is in progress. Is the Group A competition schedule in line with the people’s strength? “The schedule for multiple contests will be decided there when the working representatives of the participating candidates discuss together. I won’t tell you to follow it on a unilateral schedule.” ―The power of the people is debating about unification. Is it related to that? “What I already suggested was that’I wish to manage the pan-optics contest in the power of the people’. I have already proposed an open contest. There is no change in the idea that it is the best way to get rid of multiple unification uncertainties and get the attention of all opposition supporters without confusion.” ―A media poll yesterday revealed that a multilateral structure is advantageous to Democratic Party candidate Park Young-seon. Was this result a background for this conference? “I decided with one result of the poll, and there is no such thing. I told you from the end of last year that this election is a very difficult election for pan-optics. Only by unifying the pan-opposition candidates can the foundation stone for regime change be made.” ―If I don’t agree with any of the five proposals, can I not participate in the pan-optics contest? “The most important thing (of the five presented at today’s conference) is the first. Right now, there are so many problems with this regime, and those who feel they shouldn’t go (as it is) are pan-optics. If it expands further, I think that there is a willingness to reform our country’s politics, and all those who politicize with a future-oriented perspective have a sense of problem with the’Moon regime. ―Will A and B be divided before the candidate for national strength is decided? The possibility of merging before then is it possible to say that the door is closed? “If you agree with all the opposition candidates, I think that’s the best way.” ―Did you talk to Candidate Tae-seop Geum before the announcement? “I’ll meet soon and talk about my proposal.”
