The power of the people has set a policy toward holding a 100% public opinion poll in the party’s primary election ahead of the by-election of the 4/7 mayor of Seoul. It is a paving stone to induce the participation of outsiders in the opposition, such as Ahn Cheol-soo, former Congressman Geum Tae-seop, and National Assembly representative. On the 6th, Jeong Jin-seok, chairman of the Power of the People Nomination Committee, said, “In the Seoul-Busan mayoral by-election, opinions of the Korean government were gathered in the direction of a 100% general public opinion poll. The intention is to promote the integrated contest.” This is a plan to overturn the decision of the contest management committee to elect the final candidate with 100% citizen opinion polls during the preliminary election, 20% party member votes in the main contest, and 80% citizen polls. In this way, people outside the party who are highly recognized, but who have no organization or foundation within the power of the people, can participate in the party contest under the same conditions. Apart from opening various possibilities, such as unification of opposition power, the Korean Consulate Finalize the candidate registration schedule at the party leveldid. After receiving an application for three days from the 18th to the 27th, it was decided to announce the preliminary contestant candidates on the 28th. It is reported that Kim Jong-in, chairman of the Emergency Response Committee, also agrees with this purpose. Chairman Kim appeared on the (KBS) news program the day before and said, “I think it would be good for citizens to unify (with CEO Ahn), and I never object to the need to unify the power of the people. It’s best if you can do it, but if it isn’t, you have to think about it.” By Kim Mina, staff reporter [email protected]
