As the next presidential deputy, the voters appeared to prefer Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myeong most. A survey was conducted for three days from December 27 to 1,000 voters aged 18 years or older, commissioned by Casestat Research, an opinion polling agency, to become the next presidential officer. 23.8% of the respondents cited this branch when asked who thinks it is the best. Following this, Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol and Lee Nak-yeon, together with Democratic Party representative 15.4%, formed a’three-strong composition’ with Lee. Governor Lee received the most support from all age groups except those in their 60s and older. In particular, in their 40s (36.0%), the key support for passports, they more than doubled the lead of Yoon and Lee. The preference for this branch was relatively high even in the advanced class (34.4%) and the middle class (24.1%). President Yoon was dominant in the 60s (30.1%) and 70s or older (22.9%), Seoul (19.2%), Daegu and Gyeongbuk (25.8%), the conservatives (31.4%), and the self-employed (29.0%). Representative Lee surpassed the two in Gwangju and Jeolla (40.3%).

Among the respondents who voted for the Democratic Party candidate in the general election in April, the support of Governor Lee (33.9%) and Lee (30.8%) were within the margin of error. Among the respondents who voted for the Future Integration Party (current people’s power) during the general election, President Yoon (39.2%) and Governor Lee (11.0%) were in the order of preference. Governor Lee also surpassed opposition leaders Ahn Chul-soo (9.0%), independent lawmaker Hong Jun-pyo (8.8%), and former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min (5.3%) in the voting class of the Unified Party. The results of this survey are clearly different from the New Year’s poll a year ago. In the 2020 New Year’s poll, Lee ranked first with a preference of 25.3%, with former Liberal Korean Party representative Hwang Gyo-an (10.9%) and Governor Lee (5.5%) behind. An official from Casestat Research said, “It is true that Governor Lee played the role of a nationwide issue maker by leading policies such as COVID-19, leading policies such as basic income and local currency,” and said, “In the case of CEO Lee, he must lead the party and follow the party’s logic. It is difficult to receive even support at the point of doing so,” he diagnosed. In this survey, the combined approval rate of the pan-passport candidates (Lee Nak-yeon, Lee Jae-myeong, Shim Sang-jeong, Kim Bu-gyeom) was 42.0%, and the combined approval rate (36.9%) of the opposition candidates (Suk-yeol Yoon, Chul-Su Ahn, Jun-pyo Hong, Seung-min Yoo, Gyo-an Hwang, Se-hoon Oh, Hee-ryong Won, and Jong-in Kim) was an error. Leading within range. By Kim Mina, staff reporter [email protected]
