It was confirmed that Hwang Hana, 32, the granddaughter of Namyang Dairy founder, is being investigated by the police for violating the Narcotics Control Act.

The Seoul Yongsan Police Department announced on the 28th that it is investigating Hwang on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

The police said it could not disclose Hwang’s related charges, how the investigation began, and whether or not to be summoned. He did not apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. Hwang.

Earlier, Hwang was convicted of administering psychotropic drugs several times using disposable syringes in Seoul, his residence with an acquaintance in 2015-2019. The charges included the charges of buying 1.5g of methamphetamine three times and administering it six times with her ex-boyfriend, singer and actor Park Yoo-cheon.

Hwang was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation at the first trial in July last year on the charges. Both the prosecution and Mr. Hwang appealed, but the second trial dismissed the appeal.
