[아시아경제 장세희 기자]Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister of Economy and Ministry of Strategy and Finance, said on the 18th, “This year, public institutions are planning to hire more than 26,000 new employees, an increase of 1,000 from last year.”

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said at the ‘2021 Recruitment Information Fair for Public Institutions’ held online on the same day, “In consideration of difficult employment conditions, the number of recruits in the first half of the year was significantly increased compared to the previous year. I will do it,” he said.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong added, “We will expand the experience-based jobs in public institutions to the level of 22,000 people, and launch them quickly in January to actively provide opportunities for young people to experience work.” He said, “We will further strengthen the’connection with hiring’, such as giving incentives for hiring.”

In addition, public institutions announced that they will take the lead in creating momentum for economic recovery and structural change.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, “Major public institutions such as Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), KEPCO, and Korea Expressway Corporation plan to invest 65 trillion won, the highest level ever this year, in areas such as housing stability and the Korean version of the New Deal.”

Regarding the youth employment difficulties, he said, “I am well aware of the pains of young people and job seekers who are experiencing harder than any generation or age group. The fundamental solution is to naturally create quality jobs in the private sector,” he said.
