Hong Nam-ki, deputy prime minister of the economy and the Minister of Strategy and Finance, announced that he would pay the fourth disaster support fund for corona 19 quarantine damage to small businesses with sales of less than 1 billion won.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said at the general meeting of the Planning and Finance Committee held at the National Assembly on the afternoon of the 16th, “is we considering raising the baseline for small business people who are eligible for disaster subsidies?”

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, “The definition of small business owners is less than 1 billion won in sales,” he said. “We can’t definitively say that, but they (small business owners with less than 1 billion won in sales) say it’s difficult.

Until now, the government has provided support funds, which are subsidies for small businesses, only for sales of less than 400 million won. However, in a business report on the day, Deputy Prime Minister Hong said that he would review plans to include the support even if sales exceed 400 million won, and he mentioned additionally’less than 1 billion won’ support.

However, Deputy Prime Minister Hong avoided an immediate answer, saying, “I will closely examine how far the blind spot will be covered,” regarding a plan to support platform workers or support 5-6 or more workers.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong also said, “We are working with the goal of submitting the first supplementary budget to the National Assembly in early March.”
