Nak-Yeon Lee “I will not make a decision now on the pardon proposal”

Lee Nak-yeon, head of the Democratic Party, who was caught up in a headwind saying that he said to pardon two former presidents, Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye, who are in custody, said, “I would suggest amnesty at an appropriate time, but I will not make a decision now.”

CEO Lee appeared on KBS’News 9’on the evening of the 4th, and asked anchor Lee So-jung, who asked, “Is you one step back from the amnesty?” You cannot forgive the crimes. However, I said it because I thought it was worth reviewing as a way to gather the hearts of the people.” Representative Lee explained that “the party just organized it into two types,” and “consensus of the people and reflection of the parties are important.”

In response to the anchor’s point of’Is it appropriate to take this position without collecting opinions within the party’, Lee Nak-yeon said, “It is a very regrettable thing to do without collecting opinions,” he explained, “but it is difficult to collect opinions.” Representative Lee said, “I fully understand that it is a problem that is not easy to accept from the grammar that we have been used to for a long time, and I am reprimanded against me,” he said. “Even so, I spoke with a desperate heart.” Representative Lee continued, “And I don’t mean to do it when, but I will suggest when the right time comes. I did this like this,” he said, but said, “Now, I am not making the decision.” The answer was that he said he would suggest a pardon at the right time, but now he does not decide.

The two parties still insisted that they were’political retaliation, victims’, Lee criticized, saying, “It is a little frustrating,” and “regardless of what they think, it is right to accept the judgment by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Korea.” Representative Lee said, “If you are the supreme ruler of a country, you should be able to understand the hearts of the people. I think there will be something like an apple.” In response to a question that’they are showing an intense reaction to the condition of reflection,’ Lee asked, “Why would the party’s hypertrophy chairman apologize?”

“Isn’t it from the political calculations that I threw the number of matches because the approval rating is a little weak,” Lee said, “if I only thought about my interests, I wouldn’t talk like this.” “I’m going to fight this (corona) war that might end. “I spoke with the desperate loyalty of whether I can go as it is, leaving the hearts of the people divided into two or three.”

At the Yonhap News and New Year’s interview on the 1st, Lee said he wanted to propose a pardon for the two former presidents to President Moon Jae-in, aside from the supporters’ pros and cons, but he drew fierce opposition from inside and outside the party.

Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Gun-young (former head of the Blue House State Affairs Office), who is known as an aide to President Moon Jae-in, said in a post on his Facebook page on the evening of the 4th, “I hope that the controversy over the amnesty of the two former presidents will stop.” It should be respected, but the Democratic Party has clearly laid out its position. It was a judgment based on principles.” “In the meantime, what keeps spreading controversy is the opposition’s political intention to make a mud bath with a glass of spilled water,” he said.
