It is controversial that the Myanmar military is known to have detained citizens who interviewed the CNN broadcasting team of the United States.

Local media Myanmar Now reported on the 3rd that at least six of those interviewed with the CNN report team were detained in military facilities.

CNN Correspondent Clarissa Ward’s group visited Mayor Mingaladon and Ten Mile in Yangon on the 2nd local time to interview citizens.

However, immediately after the reporters left the scene, people around them reported that armed men in plain clothes took five and two, respectively.

At least one of them has been released, but at least six are reportedly detained at a military interrogation center in Northeastern Shepita.

In another photo posted on social media, a woman was caught salute the’three fingers’ symbol of resistance while interviewing with the CNN coverage team.

Phil Robertson, deputy director for Asia at Human Rights Watch, an international human rights organization, tweeted that after criticizing the military’s actions, CNN also pointed out that CNN was responsible for demanding immediate and unconditional release of the citizens it interviewed.

In response, a CNN spokesman said he was aware of the incident and said “we are pressing the military authorities for the safe release of those detained,” Reuters said.

Earlier, the CNN interview team entered Myanmar on the 31st of last month.

However, the appearance of three or more military and police vehicles escorting the white vehicle carrying the coverage team was seen everywhere, and citizens said, “The military is trying to trick the CNN coverage team in order to conceal and package the truth of the crimes committed against humanity.” We are repulsing.
