It is believed that at least two deaths occurred in Mandalay, the second city on the 20th, as a result of the police firing in the second city of Mandalay, as the crackdown of protests by the military and police against citizens protesting the coup in Myanmar is increasingly intense. It’s been a day since a woman who was shot by police in the capital Naepido last week died.

According to local media such as Reuters, AFP and Now in Myanmar, hundreds of workers, including workers on strike as part of the’citizen disobedience movement’ protesting the coup at the Yadanarbon Shipyard in Mandalay, held a protest on that day.

The police and the protesters in the crackdown were confronting for several hours, and 20 trucks filled with military and police and two water cannons arrived to disperse the protesters. Subsequently, the military and police fired 50 rounds, including rubber and live ammunition, and at least 10 people are believed to have been arrested so far.

In particular, six of them were injured and transferred to the hospital, of which two were seriously injured, the medical staff said. It is said that the injured were beaten in the abdomen or shot by a rubber bullet in the head. A slingshot was also found around the protest site.

AFP reported that gunshots were never ending in a Facebook video streamed in real time by a resident at the site. A citizen, who escaped at a nearby construction site, said, “The military and police are shooting brutally,” and “we need to find a safer place.”

In Myanmar, on the fourth day, the fourth day after the coup, street demonstrations demanding the resignation of the military took place in various places.

As the military and police repression became increasingly tough, bullets began to fire in some areas from the 17th, tear gas, water cannons, rubber bullets and live ammunition are being used.
