[아시아경제 조현의 기자] Myanmar’s military has warned the media not to use the word for military government (Junta, Regime).

According to local media on the 24th, Supreme Commander Min Aung Hlaing said at a state council meeting on the 22nd that “media that continues to use the term military regime will lose its publication permission.” “A measure must be taken to regulate it.”

In response to the coup on the 1st, the military said, “We have assumed national responsibility according to the constitution and are on duty in accordance with emergency regulations.”

Myanmar’s Ministry of Intelligence raised a voice to the media not to incite public unrest, saying, “Because it is a government established by the military according to the constitution, the word military regime should not be used.”

Journalists and citizens of Myanmar are protesting against censoring the media in response to the military’s warning. The acting editor-in-chief of a local media said, “It is a warning against independent media and an attempt to stop accurate reporting,” and “I will continue to use the words of the military regime.”

Other local media reported that the executives resigned when the management instructed to use the word’transfer of power’ instead of a coup.
