Most of the traffic congestion on major expressways across the country has been resolved, showing a smooth flow.
According to the Korea Expressway Corporation on the 12th, as of 9:40 pm, traffic congestion is occurring only in the vicinity of Anseong Junction to Osan and 9km from Yangjae to Banpo as of 9:40pm.
In the case of the Gyeongbu line toward Busan, cars drive slowly only 3km from Hannam to Banpo. The congestion section of the west coast line toward Seoul is around Geumcheon ~ Geumcheon 2km, and Seohae Bridge ~ 4km near Seohae Bridge.
In the case of the Seoul Metropolitan Area 1 Loop Expressway (toward Ilsan), cars are not able to speed up only in the 2km section between Jangsu and Songnae.
The Seoul Yangyang Expressway, Yeongdong Expressway, and Namhaean Expressway have no congestion sections in both directions, so communication is smooth.
It was observed that the number of vehicles using the expressway on this day was 4.29 million, which is 510,000 more than the previous day’s 3.78 million (estimated).
It is estimated that 390,000 vehicles heading from the metropolitan area to the provinces and 380,000 cars coming up from the provinces to the metropolitan area. The traffic congestion on both directions continues until late at night, and traffic congestion will be the most severe during this holiday (11-14), the Korea Highway Corporation predicted.
