English Premier League (EPL) Tottenham Hotspur coach Jose Mourinho openly expressed regret to Son Heung-min (29).
Tottenham drew 2-2 in an away game against Newcastle in the 2020-21 EPL Round 30 held at St. James’ Park in Newcastle on the 4th (Korean time). Sohn Heung-min, who started from the bench, walked the ground for 45 minutes after being substituted at the start of the second half, but could not record an attack point.
Head coach Morinho expressed regret for the result of having only added one point in an interview conducted after the game was over. He was angry that he missed the game he was able to catch due to many mistakes.
The sparks splashed on Son Heung-min. Son Heung-min caught the ball with his back inside the Newcastle penalty box in the 32nd minute of the second half, but missed the opportunity when trying to pass to Harry Kane without a shot.
“I had a good scoring opportunity, but I don’t know why Son Heung-min tried to assist there,” said Mourinho. “I just had to connect with a shot. I can’t understand why.”
In an official interview so far, coach Morinho has praised Son Heung-min as “a fantastic player.”
It is not uncommon to publicly complain about Son Heung-min’s name like today.
On the other hand, coach Mourinho said, “The game should have been won,” and expressed disappointment with the result.
