Brazil’s novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) surpassed 4,000 deaths per day.

According to the Ministry of Health of Brazil on the 6th (local time), the cumulative death toll increased to 336,947, 4,195 more than the previous day. The number of deaths per day remained around 1,000 for three consecutive days from the 3rd to the previous day, but this day exceeded 4,000 for the first time, setting the highest record since the Corona 19 incident. The cumulative confirmed number was 13,10,580, an increase of 86,979 from the previous day.

The number of new confirmed patients seemed to show signs of calm, decreasing to 20,000 on the previous day from 40,000 on the 3rd and 30,000 on the 4th, but it again surpassed 80,000 on this day. Of the total confirmed cases, 1,1558,000 have recovered, but 1.2 million are receiving treatment. Many of these are severely ill, and the death toll is expected to continue increasing.

“Corona 19 spread very quickly, so April could be a tragic month for Brazil,” said Jimas Kovas, director of the Butantang Institute under the Government of Sao Paulo. Warned. Other health experts also expressed their opinion that although the number of deaths occurred in the past month since the coronavirus outbreak, there could be more deaths this month.

According to a count of a media consortium involving leading media, the number of deaths last month was 66,868, more than twice as many as 32,912 in July last year, which was the highest in the previous month. The Institute of Health Quantitative Analysis (IHME) at the University of Washington Medical School in the United States predicted that there will be around 100,000 deaths in Brazil this month alone.

Experts pointed out that the nationwide shortage of intensive care unit beds is fueling an increase in the number of deaths. In Sao Paulo, the number of Corona 19 patients who died waiting for admission to the intensive care unit from the beginning of last month to now has reached 550. In Rio de Janeiro this year, about 300 patients died without receiving timely treatment while waiting for their turn to be admitted to the intensive care unit.

The median consortium’s average daily death toll per week was 2,775 that day. The average number of deaths per day per week peaked at 3,119 on the last day and continued to decline for four consecutive days until the previous day (2,698), but this day slightly increased. The average daily death toll of the week exceeded 1,000 on the 76th day until this day, and the situation continues to exceed 2,500 from the 27th of last month.
