More than 30 coronavirus confirmed deaths in one nursing hospital… The reason is

Experts believe that the number of confirmed cases has increased rapidly due to cross-infection occurring inside a nursing hospital where beds are concentrated in a narrow hospital room.

The increase in deaths is believed to be due to the fact that elderly patients with underlying diseases were not transferred to dedicated beds in time.

According to the Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters on that day, 46 confirmed cases of Corona 19 died in nursing hospitals and nursing facilities nationwide this month. Of these, 34 died after being diagnosed in a nursing hospital in Bucheon.

In this nursing hospital, the first confirmed person came out on the 11th of this month.

Six nursing care workers in their 20s and 60s received positive tests at once. The death came out on the 13th, two days after the first confirmed case. My 70 men died, and the deaths continued to come, and out of the 153 cumulative confirmed cases, 34, 22%, died at this hospital.

This nursing hospital, occupying the 8th floor of an 11-story commercial building in the city center, is occupied by several elderly patients in a narrow hospital room. Therefore, physical contact is inevitable in the process of receiving care services such as rehabilitation treatment.

For this reason, the quarantine authorities estimated that cross-infection occurred inside the nursing hospital after the first confirmed by nursing care workers, and the infection spread rapidly to residents.

Experts also pointed out that due to the nature of elderly patients, they did not wear masks all day long due to difficulty breathing.

An official from the quarantine authorities explained, “The factors that affect the severity of Corona 19 are age and underlying disease,” and said, “It is the most dangerous because patients in nursing hospitals have all of them.”
