[이투뉴스] Ahead of the commercialization of the first mobile hydrogen charging station in Korea, consulting was conducted to secure safety.

Korea Gas Safety Corporation conducted consulting on the 25th to secure safety for a portable hydrogen charging station that Hanyoung Technochem is planning to install and install in the Ulsan Free Regulatory Zone. In the consulting, 10 people including Lee Yeon-jae, safety management director of Gas Safety Corporation, six hydrogen safety experts and company officials, participated.

This consulting, which was conducted as a preliminary inspection before the completion inspection of a mobile hydrogen charging station, which will be commercialized soon, is based on 26 facility standards such as optimizing the arrangement of safety facilities, securing safety around charging facilities, removing accident-causing factors, and providing measures to improve safety management. An inspection was conducted on 19 items of safety improvement measures.

As it is the first mobile hydrogen charging station to be installed in Korea, the preliminary consulting was done with special attention to safety management. The mobile hydrogen charging station is scheduled to go into operation after completion inspection in early March, with approvals at 3 locations in Ulsan city.

Mobile hydrogen charging stations have been expanded to include forklifts and other indoor logistics transport vehicles from the existing hydrogen charging stations’ charging targets limited to automobiles. It is designed in a structure that can be charged after moving and parking several places by installing all containers, compressors, and filling facilities on one large truck.

Mobile hydrogen charging stations have already been commercialized in Japan, and 39 mobile charging stations are in operation, but it is reported that commercialization has not yet been achieved in the United States or Europe.

Lee Yeon-jae, safety management director of Gas Safety Corporation, who participated in the consulting, said, “We will maintain a close cooperative relationship by listening to the voices of the builders and safety management sites as well as providing institutional and technical support to secure the safety of the mobile hydrogen charging station introduced for the first time in Korea.” Emphasized. “With this preliminary consulting, we will do our best to build a hydrogen charging station infrastructure that can be safely and conveniently used by all citizens.”
