Starting from the new semester, the way for kindergarten students and first and second graders of elementary school to attend school has been opened every day, but the responses of parents are mixed with welcome and concern. Depending on whether or not they are double-income or the degree of concern about the risk of infection, different parents’ opinions differ greatly, so a national petition for’allow parents to choose’ has also been raised.

The Ministry of Education issued a policy to allow first and second graders of elementary school to attend school every day until the second stage of social distancing on the 28th. In the second stage, the principle is that only one-third of all students attend school, but if the school wants, the first and second graders can be made an exception.

Dual-income parents are welcoming. Kang Eun-jung (36), who has children entering elementary school this time, said, “If you take online classes, you have to have either a mother or a father. You can work from home and see your children, but repeating only the online classes is difficult to work. “It is a burden,” he said, “I don’t think there are many cases of infection through school, and I wonder if we only need to keep the infection rules well.”

Eom-mo, 40, an office worker with a second-year child from elementary school, said she was relieved because she saw the rules being followed well in school over the past year. Ms. Eom said, “I check fever every time I go to school, and I don’t let sick children go to school at all. Isn’t the problem with religious facilities right now?” He said, “if the child is at home, he has less activity, and he prefers to go to school.”

However, there is also an opinion that “It seems that it is not a bit of a situation to attend lower grades because of caring problems even though it is still a dangerous situation.” This article was posted from an online cafe with 2.9 million members and many parents. “I don’t think it’s because I’m in the lower grades. Some say that it is burdensome.” In addition to being infected, some parents are worried that their children will struggle with wearing masks for a long time.

It is also pointed out that parents of two or more children will find it difficult to attend school every other week or every other day depending on the distance between the 1st and 2nd graders and the 3rd to 6th grades, even if they are elementary school students. Mothers of two or three years old in the same way in first and third, second and fourth grades are worried.

On the 28th, in an online cafe where parents of elementary school parents gathered, an article was posted on the 28th, saying, “If I take one person, I am worried that one person should be at home alone.” Some say, “I think that I should use experiential learning in the second according to the first school day.”

In the end, there is an opinion that parents should be given a choice in situations where everyone is not satisfied. Different parents have different opinions depending on the current status of confirmed patients in the residential area, whether parents are double-income, confidence in school quarantine, and approval for online classes.

On the bulletin board of the Blue House National Petition, a message was posted asking for the right to go to school, and 1,100 people agreed in five days until the 29th. ‘There are families who want to keep their health rather than studying, and some families have to go to school because of double-income, so please let them choose according to their families’.
