A court ruling came out to compensate for the damages of forced labor during the Japanese occupation, but it is Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which has not responded. The seizure order to monetize the company’s domestic assets came into effect at midnight today (29th). I’ll connect to the press and learn more.

Reporter Jae-Seung Lee, What does it mean that the seizure order is in effect?

The victims, including Grandmother Yang Geum-deok, and 4 bereaved family members applied for seizure of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ patents and trademark rights in Korea.

The total amount of the bond is 840 million won.

Two of the four decisions of the seizure order took effect today, and the remaining two will be seized from 0:00 tomorrow.

In order to monetize Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ assets, there must be a seizure order and a sale order. This time, seizure is possible, and the sale order has already taken effect on the 10th of last month.

As a result, the proceedings for the sale of assets to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which have not responded even after the Supreme Court ruled in compensation for damages victims of Japanese forced labor in 2018, have met all legal requirements.

USFK will begin vaccinating against coronavirus today. The required personnel, including the medical staff, are first met. Are the discussions continuing with regard to the Korean soldiers?

[기자]

USFK will be vaccinated with the Corona 19 Vaccine Modena starting today.

Initial vaccination targets include Camp Humphreys and Osan, which are bases in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, and medical workers and emergency medical personnel at Gunsan bases.

However, vaccination is performed only when an individual voluntarily indicates his or her intention to receive vaccination.

The USFK side said, “Although we have secured enough initial doses planned by the US Department of Defense, we will not announce the exact supply due to operational security concerns.”

It is known that the vaccine is being considered for the KATUSA Soldier, a Korean soldier serving in the U.S. troops, depending on their wishes.

An official from the Ministry of Defense said, “We received an official request from the USFK side to discuss issues related to the KATUSA Soldier vaccination.”
