‘Missile Defense’… North Korea’s Americans-Maeil Economy

US Joint Chiefs of Staff John Hyton announced on the 23rd (local time) that the US’s missile defense capabilities were focused on North Korea.

Since the inauguration of the Joe Biden administration, it is eye-catching in that it has directly addressed North Korea regarding the US defense system. “Our national missile defense capabilities are clearly focused on North Korea, not China, Russia, and Iran,” at a video seminar hosted by the US Think Tank Institute for Strategic and International Affairs (CSIS) on this day. Said.

He emphasized the need to continue advancing the US capacity to respond to the North Korean threat on this basis. “We need the ability to shoot it down because North Korea has the potential to actually launch it at us,” said Hyton.

Deputy General Hyton, who left Harvard and committed to the Air Force, has been working as a joint chieftain since November 2019, during the Donald Trump administration. He revealed that the US had deployed interceptor missiles in Alaska and California to solidify its defensive capabilities.

“North Korea is continuing to advance their capabilities, which means we must continue to move forward on the defensive side,” said Hyton.

“As we move forward, we must maintain our ability to convince and deny North Korea’s ability to attack the United States effectively.” Deputy General Hyton said that if the next-generation interceptor missiles replace the existing interceptor missiles at the right time, the deterrence against North Korea will be more effective. “Whatever change North Korea makes, we will realize that they are no longer effective because we are ahead of them.”
