The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Ki-Young Choi, hereinafter referred to as’Ministry of Science and Technology’) announced that it will start a ‘2021 AI Voucher’ support project that supports the use of AI solutions or services for small and medium-sized ventures and mid-sized companies that want to introduce artificial intelligence technology.

The’AI Voucher’ provides an opportunity to inform competitive small and medium-sized venture companies (supply companies) of their artificial intelligence technology and expand the market. It was introduced last year with the aim of facilitating digital transformation across industries by facilitating it.

This year, with the aim of selecting 200 tasks, the project will be in full swing with a scale of KRW 56 billion.

In spite of its first project last year, it achieved a new hiring effect of 1,972 people and an investment result of KRW 39.1 billion, while a number of successful cases of on-site innovation such as quality improvement, productivity improvement, and cost reduction were discovered through the use of artificial intelligence.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Science and Technology said that this year, the scope of support will be expanded to mid-sized companies with high-quality data so that companies in various fields can introduce artificial intelligence into their products and services to improve productivity and enhance corporate competitiveness.

The selection of a demand company, a company using a voucher, is open from January 22 to March 2, and vouchers of up to 300 million won are provided to the selected companies.

In addition, additional suppliers will be recruited from January 22 to February 19, following last year, targeting small and medium-sized venture companies that can provide artificial intelligence solutions or services for the business.

Companies in need of AI solutions select and use suppliers from the pool of suppliers to purchase and use their own customized AI solutions.

Song Gyeong-hee, Artificial Intelligence-based Policy Officer of the Ministry of Science and Technology Information and Communication, said, “The world is in a full-fledged competition to improve productivity and create bridal value using artificial intelligence.” “Through the AI voucher, we will provide the best technology to companies that need to introduce artificial intelligence. It is expected that SMEs and venture companies with artificial intelligence technology will be an opportunity to create new markets.”
