At this briefing session, each project agency will present detailed plans for the ▲ diffusion project ▲ pilot project ▲ technology development project ▲ professional company fostering project this year. This year, the budget for the blockchain project organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology is 53.1 billion won. This is an increase of 55% from 34.3 billion won last year.
◆ Blockchain Expansion Project
First, in accordance with the’blockchain technology diffusion strategy’ announced in June last year, the blockchain diffusion project was ▲social welfare (Ministry of Health and Welfare) ▲voting (Central Election Management Committee) ▲Renewable Energy (Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) ▲Friendship Customer Management Project Headquarters) ▲ Promote diffusion projects in five areas, including donations (private).
Among these, the donation field without a competent department is open to public. Projects in the other four areas with supervisory departments will be carried out through procurement orders.
◆ Blockchain pilot project
Starting this year, a total of 19 tasks will be carried out, categorized as ▲ Leading Pilot Project ▲ DID Concentration Project ▲ Special Zone Linkage Project.
The leading pilot project discovers areas with high effect of introducing public and private blockchains, and supports new service areas that can be expanded into future expansion projects. Ten tasks were assigned.
The DID intensive project discovers innovative services that can utilize distributed ID (DID) services such as objects, data, and contracts to establish and revitalize a service-oriented ecosystem. A total of 5 tasks were assigned.
The special zone linkage project supports the search for new services that link and utilize the block chain service built through the block chain regulatory free zone project. Proceed with a total of 4 tasks. Services built through the blockchain special zone project include identification, logistics, and payment.
◆ Technology development business
‘Blockchain technology development for the data economy’ will be conducted with a total of 1133 billion won from this year to 2025. It passed a preliminary feasibility study in June of last year and will be promoted in earnest from this year.

◆ Professional company development business
The block chain specialized company development project consists of technology verification for SMEs with creative ideas and technologies related to blockchain, and consulting for companies and institutions seeking to introduce blockchain technology.
The Ministry of Science and Technology is conducting 12 technology verification projects this year. Target companies are companies in the field of service-type blockchain (BaaS) and companies that want to enter the new southern regions (Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia). Companies wishing to enter the New Southern region will support technology verification with local companies.
Companies wishing to enter the New Southern region can receive consulting on strategies to enter the local market and solutions to legal system problems. Consulting is conducted for 10 companies.
