The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 12th that it would request a re-recommendation to the LH Corporation Executive Recommendation Committee for the candidate for the president of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), who was in the process of appointment.

The appointment procedure for Seoul National Housing and Urban Corporation (SH) President Kim Se-yong, who was a leading candidate, has been virtually stopped.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said in a press release on the afternoon of that day, saying, “Among the candidates who applied for the presidential contest held on December 29 of last year, the re-recommendation procedure was conducted under the judgment that there were no eligible candidates capable of responding severely to the current situation of LH. I’m going to promote it,” he explained.

Land Policy Officer Kim Hyung-seok of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said, “I will do my best to expedite the appointment process.”

LH’s president has been vacant for the third month since Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Byun Chang-heum retired on December 14 last year.

The beginning of the LH president appointment process is LH’s Executive Recommendation Committee. Through this process, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance opens the Public Institution Steering Committee (Kongwoon Committee) to deliberate on the recommended personnel. Following the deliberation by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the final candidate is selected and appointed, and the president approves the personnel process.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and LH, the Executive Recommendation Committee has confirmed three candidates for the new president, and the Public Transportation Committee under the Ministry of Information Technology has completed verification of the three candidates. Accordingly, there was an analysis that the appointment of President Kim was influential. However, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport requested LH to recommend candidates again, even after the deliberation of the governing committee of public institutions was completed.
