The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will provide KRW 600 billion in national expenditure for more than 70 tasks for smart specialized infrastructure construction projects from this year to 2025.

The Smart Specialization Infrastructure Project refers to a project to build a foundation for regional innovation growth that reflects the characteristics of the region to strengthen regional industrial capabilities or transforms a regional flagship industry facing crisis into a new industry.

According to the Ministry of Industry on the 4th, the project will select 56 strategic industries specialized for each region by comprehensively considering the regional industrial development demand and the national industrial development strategy.In order to smart-specialize regional industries, industry-academic innovation institutions and equipment It plans to support the establishment of a linked platform, expansion of equipment, technical support, and training of professionals.

For the 2021 new planning tasks (23), which were selected with an amount of about 140 billion won last year, the agency is scheduled to be selected at the end of next month through public offerings and new evaluation committees from this day to the 8th of next month.

The Ministry of Industry, in cooperation with local governments, has strengthened links with major national industrial fields such as smart specialized strategic industries, small managers, K-Bio, and Korean New Deal in order to improve the project performance.

This will be reflected from the time of selecting a new project this year, and about 100 projects will be supported by 2025.

This year’s announcement of the new project implementation organization can be confirmed at the Korea Institute for Industrial Technology Promotion from this day, and the new project for 2022 will be confirmed by the end of April of this year through the regional base council.
