The notification of specialized companies enacted this time is based on screening and evaluation items and scores necessary for designating energy specialized companies in accordance with Article 14 of the Enforcement Decree of the same Act as Article 14 of the Special Act on Designation and Promotion of Energy Industry Convergence Complexes (hereinafter referred to as the Convergence Complex Act). Energy-specialized companies are companies that occupy the convergence complex and target companies with more than 50% of the sales of energy and related industries out of the total sales of the company. It is planning to designate a company that can contribute to the development of the convergence complex in the future as an energy specialized company.

The procedure for designating an energy-specialized company is from the 20th to February 23rd, through the online system (http://genie.ketep.re.kr) for a total of 35 days, after receiving the application through the written evaluation and on-site inspection if necessary, at the end of March. A designation letter will be issued.
The evaluation fee is supported by the government, so there is no burden on the enterprise, and all application documents can be submitted as electronic files.
The Ministry of Industry is planning to actively promote support for companies in the convergence complex, such as designation as an energy-specialized company, to build a regional energy industry ecosystem and revitalize the convergence complex.
To this end, to expand effective support such as tax support for energy-specialized companies, special cases for state-owned property, and preferential purchase of public institutions, system maintenance such as the revision of the Convergence Complex Act is continuously promoted, and infrastructure, empirical research, professional manpower training, and commercialization are carried out. It announced that it plans to expand full-scale support for the creation of a convergence complex such as promotion.
