Ministry of Industry, Announcement of’New Task for Energy Technology Development in the First Half of 2021′

[대전인터넷신문=대전/박세종 기자] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 18th that it will announce’new task for energy technology development for the first half of 2021′ tomorrow (19th).

The grand prize is a total of 24 projects including energy supply, demand technology, and infrastructure, with 119 projects worth KRW 195.4 billion. Some projects, such as energy manpower training projects and foundations, will be announced separately.

Through the last year’s business, there were achievements such as commercialization of floating solar power, localization of key parts for hydrogen charging stations, and development of ultra-fast electric vehicle charging systems.

This year’s energy technology development project focused on technically supporting the realization of the Green New Deal and carbon neutrality, strengthening the connection between technology development and demand and market, and reinforcing safety management of R&D projects.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry is planning to invest KRW 1,133.6 billion in energy technology development this year, an increase of 19.1% from the previous year, of which KRW 214.2 billion will be invested in new projects in the first half.

In order to create a new market through cooperation and investment of public enterprises, the’Public Energy Lead Investment’ project (4.8 billion won) was newly established, and the participation of public enterprises in the RFP was mandatory by discovering tasks (17 cases) that require participation of public enterprises.

In addition, by designating an’energy-specialized company’, establishing an institutional basis for effective support, and linking with various support projects, it is also promoting the energy industry convergence complex. In particular, benefits such as reductions in local taxes, preferential treatment in local investment subsidies, and additional points in business R&D are provided to energy-specialized companies.

In addition, through the’Graduate School of Energy Convergence’, we will actively cultivate experts who will support the realization of the Green New Deal and carbon neutrality, and strengthen strategic international cooperation to secure new technologies and advance into overseas markets.

After receiving the business plan from March to April, the Ministry of Industry will determine the project operator through selection and evaluation, and plan to provide funding through an agreement by May.
