Ministry of Environment, all efforts to supply pollution-free vehicles-Medical News

[일간보사=이정윤 기자] The Ministry of Environment (Minister Han Han-ae) will supply 300,000 non-polluting vehicles (electric and hydrogen vehicles) (including motorcycles) by the end of this year to accelerate carbon neutrality in the transportation sector.

After taking office, Environment Minister Han Han-ae visited the site of the zero-pollution vehicle supply project, which is the representative Korean version of the New Deal, on the morning of the 28th as his first on-site trip.

Hyundai Motor Company’s Jeonju Plant is the world’s largest electric and hydrogen commercial vehicle plant that produces electric and hydrogen buses, and the Wanju Hydrogen Charging Station is the largest in Korea as a place where all hydrogen vehicles (passenger and commercial) produced in Korea can be charged. .

At this meeting, Minister Han inspected the hydrogen car production facility, which is the core of pollution-free vehicles, and encouraged officials, and requested that we do our best to supply vehicles in a timely manner to achieve 300,000 pollution-free vehicles in 2021.

As of the end of last year, a total of 179,000 vehicles (including two-wheeled vehicles) were supplied, and a total of 136,185 vehicles are expected to be supplied this year.

121,000 electric vehicles (75,000 passenger cars, 1,000 buses, 25,000 cargo, 20,000 motorcycles), 15,185 hydrogen vehicles (15,000 passengers, 180 buses, 5 cargoes), etc. .

If the project for supplying pollution-free vehicles planned for this year is promoted without a hitch, the era of 300,000 vehicles (including two-wheeled vehicles) will be opened at the end of the year.

In particular, the Ministry of Environment is planning to focus on supplying electric and hydrogen commercial vehicles with high air quality improvement effects starting this year.

The supply of electric buses, electric cargo, and hydrogen buses will be greatly expanded, and subsidies for hydrogen cargo development pilot projects will be newly established (national and local expenses of 200 million KRW each).

In addition, from this day, the pollution-free vehicle supply project in 2021 begins in earnest.

On January 21st, the Ministry of Environment announced a plan to reorganize the subsidy system containing the policy directions* for the spread of pollution-free vehicles this year.

Minister Han Jeong-ae said, “The world is making every effort to lead the era of zero-pollution vehicles, which has already become a reality.” I will concentrate my capabilities.
