Shinsung ENG decided to invest in a new 700MW module manufacturing plant in the Gimje Free Trade Zone to proactively respond to the expansion of the domestic and overseas solar power market in April of last year, and in January of this year after completing the facility construction of the plant in December of the same year. Since then, it is producing the world’s best high-power (440~530W class) modules in earnest.

Currently, major countries around the world are expanding investments to preoccupy eco-friendly markets such as renewable energy to respond to global climate change, and the Korean government is also expanding the supply of renewable energy through the announcement of the Green New Deal in 2020 and the declaration of carbon neutrality. He has presented a vision to foster

In response to this, investments in technology development and new production facilities by domestic solar companies are also increasing.

As announced through the’Solar R&D Innovation Strategy’ in September last year, the government plans to invest heavily in the solar R&D budget for the development of next-generation high-efficiency solar cells in the domestic solar industry, and supports mass production verification of developed products. In order to do this, we will establish a’solar power company joint R&D center’.

In addition, the Ministry of Industry said that it plans to induce funds necessary for facility investment and M&A of the domestic renewable industry through the policy-type New Deal Fund and green guarantee system that will be launched in earnest from 2021.

Minister of Industry Sung Yun-mo emphasized that “the global competition for the renewable energy industry is fierce, and the time when preemptive and drastic investment in the industry is paramount.”

“For the successful promotion of carbon neutrality, the domestic renewable energy industry ecosystem needs to be firmly supported, so the government will actively support the investment of the industry.”
