It was found that the prosecution was recently not accused of accusing Pastor Kwang-Hoon Jeon (65), president of the Korean Federation of Christianity Associations (Ki-chong Han), who accused the National Police Commissioner Min Gap-ryong of being illegally inspected.
According to law enforcement officials on the 8th, the second criminal division of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office (Director Prosecutor Kim Hyung-soo) was charged with accusation of former pastor Min and Yang Young-woo, chief of the Jong-am police station, on charges of abuse of authority. .
The prosecution is known to have closed the case without investigating the accused, including Commissioner Min. However, an official at the prosecution explained, “It is common for the heads of agencies to investigate and decide on the matters accused of being accused.”
It was about a year after the case was filed that the prosecution was not accused of the case. Earlier, the Conservative Lawyers’ Association for the Unification of the Korean Peninsula (Hanbyon), on behalf of the former pastor, filed a complaint against Chief Min and Chief Yang to the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office in January last year.
At the time, Han Byeon claimed, “The former pastor was a civilian religious person, and (the police) conducted an illegal inspection on the religious person.”
He added, “In the complaints against Chief Min and Chief Yang, the charges of abuse of authority and violation of the Personal Information Protection Act were stated.” They also filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission of the National Human Rights Commission, claiming that there was human rights violations that resulted in handcuffs in the process of applying for an arrest warrant for the former pastor.
At the regular meeting held at the time, Commissioner Min said, “I know that employees have faithfully performed their duties as defined by the internal guidelines for being handcuffed when detained and escorted. I got it, and the rules are like that.”
