The drug king’s wife properly showed the side of the vice-changing vice-soo (夫唱婦隨). The wife of the notorious “Drug King” Joaquin Gusman (aka El Chapo) was arrested in the United States for drug trafficking.
The U.S. Department of Justice announced on the 22nd (between local offices) that Gusman’s wife, Emma Coronel Icefuro, was arrested at Dulles International Airport, Virginia. Coronel is accused of taking part in bringing drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana into the United States. Coronel is scheduled to attend the Washington DC Federal District Court on the 23rd.

Gusman was the drug king of the century who led the Mexican drug organization’Sinaloa Cartel’ and became the main subject of movies and dramas. He was grasping the route of drug delivery from South America to the United States. He was sentenced to life in prison in a U.S. court in 2019 and is currently imprisoned in the U.S.
Before being handed over to the United States in 2017, Gusman succeeded in jailbreaking like a movie twice and became famous. There is a history of jailbreaking after hiding in a laundry vehicle in 2001, and in 2015 he escaped using a tunnel connected to the outside from a solitary shower room. Coronel is known to have actively helped Gusman escape at the time.

American-born Coronel grew up in Mexico and married Gusman, 32 years old in 2007. It was Gusman’s third wife. They have twin daughters. In the past, when Gusman was tried in New York, USA, Coronel would appear in court.
