In February this year, exports to the health industry totaled 1.91 billion dollars (about 2,162.1 billion KRW), an increase of 46.3% from the same month last year.

By industry, pharmaceuticals recorded $850 million (962.2 billion won), up 75.1% from the same month last year. After that, cosmetics ($620 million, +18.1%) and medical devices ($440 million, +49.2%) were in the order of the largest exports.

Health industry exports have maintained positive growth for 18 consecutive months since September 2019, and have continued to increase by more than 30% for 10 consecutive months since May 2020.

In the health industry export ranking by country, China was the highest at $380 million (430.3 billion won), up 17.0% year-on-year, followed by Germany (360 million dollars, +659.2%), and the United States (170 million dollars, + 13.9%), followed by Japan (150 million dollars, 33.4%).

In terms of export ranking by item, immunity products (biopharmaceuticals) increased 382.1% year-on-year to $340 million, the highest, followed by basic cosmetic products ($300 million, +31.6%), and other immune products ($250 million). , +63.5%).
