At any time, there are screenings that do not have the minimum level of academic ability at all, such as the Dongguk University Principal’s Recommendation Talent Selection or Yonsei University’s Student Associate Course Recommendation type, but most have the minimum level of academic ability. In the case of the Sungkyunkwan University essay writing excellence screening, mathematics and scientific inquiry grades must not exceed 3 grades, English should be grade 2, and Korean history should be grade 4 or less. Those who pass the Seoul National University regional balance selection must be in the first or second grade in the three areas of the SAT. Ewha Womans University is the place with the largest number of on-time selections. A total of 90 people are selected on time. There are many on-time selections at universities in Seoul, such as Chung-Ang University (70), Sookmyung Women’s University (65), Deokseong Women’s University (40), and Sungkyunkwan University (30). Kyungpook National University (5 students), Jeonbuk National University (9 students), and Korea University Sejong Campus (9 students) select a single digit on time. Keimyung University and Chungbuk University select’Pharmaceutical Department’ in addition to the Pharmacy Department, and Ewha Womans University selects’Future Industrial Pharmacy Major’ freshmen separately. They all have the same pharmacist license qualifications, but the curriculum is slightly different. Pharmaceutical departments tend to have more prerequisite courses for pharmaceutical majors than pharmacology. The Future Industrial Pharmacy major will also study management, psychology, and marketing.

14 years ago, the college of pharmacy was a four-year program. Medicine colleges tried to switch to the six-year system, but the ‘2+4 system’ was introduced in 2009. After receiving basic education for at least two years in other departments, it was transferred to a medical school and received education for four years. However, it was pointed out that it was no different from the existing four-year program, and there was a side effect that science and engineering students flocked to medicine. Eventually, the Enforcement Decree of the Higher Education Act in 2018 was changed so that the College of Pharmacy could have an integrated six-year system. This is the background to be able to select a ’22nd grade pharmacy freshman’ 14 years after the ’08 student pharmacy freshman’. However, unlike in the 08th grade, who attended the four-year pharmacy college, from the 22nd grade, they attend a six-year pharmacy.
