The MBN branch of the national media labor union urged the company to guarantee the union’s participation in the public offering of the president and the appointment of outside directors.

On the morning of the 19th, the MBN union held a press conference in front of MBN’s office building in Toegye-ro, Jung-gu, and made a press conference to urge the execution of the presidential contest system and condemning the appointment of outside directors.

Na Seok-chae, head of the media union’s MBN branch, said in a press conference, “As soon as the request for temporary injunction for suspension of effect on the suspension of work by the Korea Communications Commission was cited, the management is directly against the conditions of re-approval of both the Korea Communications Commission, which received an indulgence” .

“The core of the conditions for re-approval imposed by the Korea Communications Commission is to separate ownership and management so that illegal activities such as the provision of illegal capital don’t recur at the time of the launch of the comprehensive programming channel, and to create a check mechanism against the imperial power of the majority shareholder.” .

However, the MBN union criticized the management on the 22nd of last month that it had deprived the union’s recommended audience members of the right to deliberate.

“This cuts off the possibility of an independent outside director entering the board of directors and monitoring the recurrence of illegal activities,” said Nah.

At the same time, the management insisted that the agenda for the appointment of outside directors should be withdrawn at this general shareholders’ meeting, and that a new person should be selected as outside directors through deliberation and voting in which all viewer committee members participate.

In addition, he urged that the presidential contest system be implemented according to the schedule proposed by the Korea Communications Commission, and that the union, which is the representative of the workers, should ensure a plan to participate in the examination.

In addition, he insisted that the lawsuit against the conditions of re-approval filed against the Korea Communications Commission be withdrawn immediately.

Earlier, the Korea Communications Commission decided to suspend business for six months because MBN violated the Broadcasting Act by illegally allocating capital, and separately issued a correction order saying that the reorganization of the outside directors did not follow as planned.

MBN objected to this and filed an administrative lawsuit, and the Seoul Administrative Court cited the request for temporary injunction to suspend the effect of suspension of business, so the’blackout’ could be avoided immediately. However, the main lawsuit is expected to take several years.
