MapleStory’s’Lost Arc’, which is crowded with refugees, increases in PC room share

While Nexon’s long-lived PC online game’Maple Story’ was engulfed in a probability manipulation controversy, Smilegate’s PC online game’Lost Arc’ showed a sharp rise in the PC room share.

According to the game industry on the 5th, Smilegate’s PC MMORPG Lost Ark is enjoying a boom as the market share of PC cafes has risen sharply and queues are occurring.

In the case of Lupeon, the largest server on the 1st, the queue exceeded 13,000 people, the waiting time exceeded an hour, and the number of game client download users was reportedly increasing, leading to a game installation error.

Lost Arc ranked 10th in the February overall game rankings of the PC room game ranking site Gametrix, but the daily market share is 6th as of the 4th. The reason why Lost Arc’s market share is soaring is because’Men refugees’ who are dissatisfied with the Maple Story probability manipulation are rushing to Lost Arc.

Unlike Maple Story, Lost Arc has a structure in which sales are generated by selling decorative items. Lost Arc also has a draw (gacha) in which items appear with a certain probability, but it is operated mainly by purchasing necessary items.

On the other hand, Nexon announced that it will disclose all the probabilities of its own games for the first time in the domestic game industry on this day as the Maple Story probability manipulation controversy spread.

Nexon said, “We have decided to introduce a’probability real-time monitoring system’ that can fully disclose not only capsule-type items that have been previously disclosed, but also paid reinforcement/composite information, and verify this.”

He added, “The target is the major online games and mobile games that the company is currently servicing, and we plan to disclose the probability of all paid probability items in stages,” he added.

It is paying attention to whether Nexon’s follow-up measures can turn the hearts of MapleStory users back.
